There is no easy solution to this! An impressive social media presence, a strong reputation in the riding community, exceptional talents, or a unique perspective on bikes and life can all assist. Remember that sponsors want a return on their investment, so you won’t be getting a bike or kit for free! Check out our website for interviews with some of our sponsored riders, like Mark Matthews and Martha Gill, to get a sense of what’s involved.
Our bikes, like those of most other bike manufacturers, are developed in the West and manufactured in the East. The production and quality control in the nations where our bikes are built are among the best in the world, and our design team can collaborate with our partners there to deliver you their vision of the ideal bike at realistic rates.
We don’t include bike weights on our website for numerous reasons. First and foremost, we may have to significantly modify a bike’s specifications from those mentioned on our website, which will effect the overall weight. The size of a bike also influences how much it weighs, so we’d have to give multiple weights for each model variety. If you want to know how much one of our bikes weighs, we recommend visiting your nearest Marin dealer, who will weigh it for you.

We at Marin are huge fans of fat tires since they provide greatest grip and comfort. Tire clearance can be difficult to quantify due to the lack of a standard method of measuring tires. Some manufacturers measure the tire’s widest point, whereas others measure the carcass (the central section without the knobs). Furthermore, a particular tire model will change depending on the width of the rim it is mounted on. Tires are also handcrafted, so there will be some variation. Checking the tires on your bike is a good place to start. For example, if your bike was sold with 40mm tires, it will accept 40mm or smaller without trouble. For bikes with tighter clearances, such as our Gravel/Beyond Road line, we frequently include the maximum tire width (for multiple wheel sizes, if applicable) on the bike’s product page.
Please refer to the Marin owners manual for weight limits dependent on the kind of bike. Riding style, riding circumstances, and a variety of other factors can be just as essential as the rider’s weight. Furthermore, the maximum weight that full suspension models are qualified for can be limited by the rear shock’s maximum air pressure rating. Marin suggests having your bike inspected on a regular basis by a certified professional bike mechanic to ensure its integrity.
We do not refinish bikes or do custom paint treatments.
When you buy a bike today, it’s likely that it was built to work with a single chainring crankset, which means there won’t be room for a front derailleur or cable guides. Before obtaining a new crankset, we recommend speaking with your local bike shop: a larger cassette or a smaller front chainring may provide the lower gears you require.
If you wish to change your double or triple-crankset bike to a single chainring, you may need to buy a new cassette, shifter, and derailleur. We recommend taking it to a bike shop, where they can advise you on what parts you need and what will work with your present frame.
Cleaning an electric bike is pretty similar to cleaning a regular bicycle. You can use soap and water without worrying about the electrical components; however, use caution around battery charge ports and avoid using a power washer unless it is a bike-specific low-pressure one. We’ve created a video demonstrating how to clean your e-bike, which can be viewed here.
We are not involved in the transaction between our approved dealers and the rider (our website click-and-collect program just facilitates the transaction), hence we are unable to offer any type of discount.
